Ron Levitan, Dip. Comp. Sci.
Director of Informatics, Department of Health Evidence and Policy
Mount Sinai School of Medicine

Mr. Levitan directs a team of software developers who specialize in building web-based clinical data management systems with complex workflows. His team has built systems that manage data for a number of large, multi-center randomized clinical trials, including the ARUBA trial (www.arubastudy.org), which captures data over the Internet from nearly 100 hospitals in the Americas, Europe and Australia, and the CT Surgical Trials Network (www.ctsurgerynet.org), which currently manages data for four simultaneous clinical studies captured on more than 130 different web forms.

His team also developed the web-based Medical Error Reporting System (MERS) used at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. A newer version of the system is being used at Mount Sinai Medical Center and will be rolled out to 12 hospitals in Rhode Island beginning in June.
