Jayant Deshpande M.D.

(Vanderbilt) Jayant Deshpande, M.D. M.P.H., at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics Anesthesiologist-in-Chief, the Executive Physician, for Pediatric Quality and Safety and the Vice Chair for Pediatric Affairs, Department of Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Deshpande’s expertise has penned more than 30 articles in peer reviewed journals as author or co-author. He has written more than two dozen chapters in medical books. Editions of “The Pediatric Pain Handbook” and “Pediatric Pain Management for Primary Care” have received his reviews as a co-editor. He is the Immediate Past President of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia. Steven C. Hall, MD FAAP, is the Arthur C. King Professor of Pediatric Anesthesia and Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He is Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. He has been active in a wide variety of basic science and clinical practice research efforts, and has served as a director of the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research, where he founded the pediatric interest subsection. Among other activities, he is also the current President of the American Board of Anesthesiology.
