Alan J. Moskowitz, M.D.

Dr. Moskowitz is the Vice-Chair of the Department of Health Evidence and Policy and Professor of Medicine and Health Evidence and Policy at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is the Co-Director of the International Center for Health Outcomes and Innovation Research (InCHOIR), and a practicing internist. His research is focused in the areas of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. He is a principal investigator in the NINDS supported ARUBA trial, an international RCT comparing watchful waiting to lesion eradication for unruptured brain arteriovenous malformations and co-principal investigator on the NHLBI sponsored cardio-thoracic surgery network, studying RF ablation for atrial fibrillation, interventions for ischemic mitral regurgitation and stem cell treatment for advanced heart failure. Dr. Moskowitz is also actively involved in clinical trials of left ventricular assist devices and is the co-chair of the cost-effectiveness section of the INTERMACS registry of mechanical circulatory support devices.
